The University of Bonn invites you to visit their weather radar system. It was the first German university system and installed at the end of the sixties. Since then, it has been extensively and continuously upgraded. Today, it is a new polarimetric weather radar which performs regular measurements at 5–minute intervals. An approximate 1-hour guided tour is offered on two different days. The Meteorological Institute is around a 20-minute walk away. Depending on the number of persons, we try to organize a transport by bus. Confirmed participants will be informed in August about transport details. For now, please be prepared to walk to the Meteorological Institute and back. All participants should carry a valid photo ID and face masks necessary for certain occasions, for example in the guard house or the elevators. Please be prepared for certain scenarios regarding corona restrictions, such as health questionnaires or the proof of vaccination.
Final dates and information are likely to be available once the programme schedule is finalised. The EMS2022 registration confirmation email will contain a link to the online registration form. If you have any questions, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
