Fraunhofer Institute RH Wachtberg excursion

Date: Wednesday,7 September 2022, 5pm
Max. number of participants: 30

The Fraunhofer Institute for High Frequency Physics and Radar Techniques FHR (FHR) in Wachtberg near Bonn invites to an afternoon visit. FHR is one of the leading and largest European research institutes in the area of high-frequency and radar techniques. The excursion also includes the sighting of TIRA (Tracking and Imaging Radar), which provides valuable support for space missions via detection and reconnaissance of objects in space. The start of the guided tour in English is at 5pm at the FRH. Currently, we try to arrange a roundtrip by bus, where the number of seats is still unknown. We will keep the registered excursion participants up to date regarding the transport possibilities in August. Thus, please be also prepared to arrange your participation via public transport in the worst case. All participants should carry a valid photo ID and facemasks necessary for certain occasions, for example in the guardhouse or the elevators. Please be prepared for certain scenarios regarding corona restrictions, such as health questionnaires or the proof of vaccination.

Final dates and information are likely to be available once the programme schedule is finalised. The EMS2022 registration confirmation email will contain a link to the online registration form. If you have any questions, please contact ems.2022@dwd.de.
